A group of 35 women has filed a civil lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court against Dr. Barry Brock, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and other medical practices where he worked. The suit alleges that Dr. Brock engaged in decades of sexual and medical misconduct, which the involved healthcare institutions knowingly enabled and concealed.

Dr. Barry Brock, a longtime OB-GYN based in Beverly Hills, recently had his hospital privileges at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center terminated. The newly filed lawsuit accuses him of making lewd and unsettling comments to patients, conducting medically unnecessary examinations, and groping patients’ breasts and genitals—often without gloves. The plaintiffs further allege that Brock performed what they describe as “female genital mutilation” by administering unnecessary sutures to women following childbirth.

The lawsuit also states that Brock denied caesarean sections to patients who needed them, raising serious concerns about medical neglect and patient safety. The allegations span a career that the plaintiffs claim was marked by a repeated pattern of abuse and inappropriate conduct masked as legitimate medical care.

In response to the lawsuit, Dr. Brock has strongly denied all allegations. In a statement released Tuesday, he described the claims as “false and outrageous.” He asserted that he had never touched a patient inappropriately or made sexually suggestive or harassing remarks. Brock criticized the lawsuit as consisting of “flat-out lies,” “made-up events,” and “exaggerated and fabricated statements.” He expressed particular outrage over the characterizations of his post-childbirth suturing practices and routine gynecological exams. He dismissed the idea that such medical procedures could be interpreted as “female genital mutilation” or “sadistic.”

Brock further claimed that attorneys were twisting standard practices to appear predatory, even suggesting that speaking to patients was being framed as “grooming.” He defended his use of standard vaginal exams and pap smears as medically appropriate and necessary.

The suit also names Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and other associated medical entities as co-defendants, alleging that they were aware of Brock’s conduct and allowed it to continue. It accuses the institutions of enabling and concealing his misconduct rather than taking action to protect patients.
