More patients file lawsuit alleging sexual assault by prominent OBG-GYN doctor

Another former patient has joined 64 other women in filing lawsuits against Dr. Barry Brock, a once-prominent OB-GYN at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, alleging sexual misconduct. The woman, identified as “Jane Doe #4,” said she only realized she had been victimized after reading similar accounts in a newspaper. She described how Dr. Brock conducted inappropriate breast and vaginal exams, often without gloves or a chaperone, while making sexually charged remarks and using his authority to manipulate patients.

Jane Doe #4 recalled being left naked during extended breast exams, during which Dr. Brock would rub her legs while making conversation. “He was grooming me as if what he was doing was right or routine,” she said. The lawsuit claims such behavior was repeated over the years and that Dr. Brock used his position to exploit patients under the guise of medical care.

Attorney Martin Gould, who represents the plaintiffs, stated that the inappropriate actions—including unwanted touching, explicit remarks, and excessive examinations—were not isolated incidents but occurred over decades. He emphasized that Cedars-Sinai was aware of previous complaints and failed to take appropriate action. “We expect to find out no investigations were done or that total difference was given to Dr. Brock and the investigations fizzed out and that was it,” Gould said.
This latest legal action is part of a broader set of lawsuits filed by dozens of other women against Dr. Brock. The plaintiffs are seeking accountability not only from the doctor but also from Cedars-Sinai for allegedly allowing the misconduct to continue unchecked.

Jane Doe #4 expressed hope that her involvement in the lawsuit could help prevent similar cases in the future. “Hopefully this makes a difference on how routine things are done and so I can make a difference in the future so that this doesn’t happen to anyone else,” she said.

Dr. Brock has denied all allegations made against him. NBC4 News reached out to him for a comment but received no response.

In response to the allegations, Cedars-Sinai released a statement saying the reported behavior contradicts the institution’s core values. They confirmed that Dr. Brock no longer holds privileges to practice at their facility and that the matter has been reported to the California Medical Board. The hospital emphasized its commitment to the legal process and to its mission of healing and community service.
